Flexible Container Hire Terms

We designed our hire service with flexibility in mind. You can rent a container for as little as 8 weeks, which suits short-term projects such as building work or event storage. If your project extends, you simply keep the container for as long as you need it.

To keep costs transparent, we take a haulage collection deposit at the start of the hire. We use this fund to collect the empty containers when you finish with them. This ensures you know the full transport cost upfront. We check every unit before dispatch to ensure it is wind and watertight, guaranteeing your goods stay dry.

We stock a wide range of container types to meet specific storage challenges. While standard boxes are most common, we can supply specialised equipment for difficult loads.

20ft Containers for Rent

The 20ft standard container is our most popular hire unit. It fits into a standard car parking space (20ft long by 8ft wide) and holds roughly the contents of a three-bedroom house. It is compact enough for most driveways in Richmond but spacious enough for site tools and materials.

Security and Construction

We build our hire fleet from Corten steel (weathering steel). This material resists corrosion and withstands the British weather. Even if the paint chips, the steel forms a protective layer that stops rust from penetrating the wall.

Security is a priority. We fit our rental units with a lockbox. This is a steel cowl that covers the padlock and shackle, protecting them from bolt croppers, angle grinders, and tampering. The doors feature heavy-duty rubber seals and locking bars to ensure the unit remains secure and weatherproof.

Delivery to Richmond

We deliver your container using a HIAB truck with an onboard crane. Our drivers are experienced in navigating Richmond’s key routes, from the South Circular (A205) to the residential streets of Barnes and Ham. The driver lifts the container from the vehicle and places it on the ground.

Ground Conditions

You must provide hard-standing ground, such as concrete, tarmac, or compacted hardcore. We cannot place containers on grass or soft soil, as the delivery truck may sink, or the container may shift over time. If the container is not level, the doors will twist and jam. We recommend using railway sleepers or concrete blocks to support the corners and keep the floor dry.

Access Requirements

Ensure the truck can access your site. For a 20ft container, the driver needs about 60 feet of straight-line space to unload. For a 40ft unit, this increases to roughly 110 feet.
